Dramatic, emphatic and explosive – the only words available to describe this collection of short stories. George Ivanoff not only has the insight to get into the heads of teenagers and know their every move and thought, but his writing style is short, clear and penetrating. The profound themes in this collection are, at times, the frightening reality of the lives of teenagers as they cope with stress, depression, loneliness and love. The unexpected twist thrown in at the end of each of these stories places this collection in the “must read” category. Take care though, mature reader themes predominate.

WOW! Thank you so much for this review. This was my first ever book, published way back in 1999 — it’s nice to know that it’s still being read. 🙂

With much excitement, George Ivanoff author of Life, Death & Detention, launched the republication of his short story collection at Mentone Grammar when working there as ‘Writer in Residence’ in mid August 2012. If you ‘ve not already read this great collection, now is the time to grab a copy! Some great reads – though some for a more mature age audience.
