As you know …. I love a good book shelf!

I came upon this one just recently.  Designed by Miron Lior, the design is simple, but elegant, giving an effect of the books being suspended in air, floating on the wall.

With no shelf to support the books, the mechanism for achieving the effect is quite simple.   As shown in the display photos below, by affixing a ‘conceal’ shelf to any wall, the back cover of a book can be slipped into the shelving unit, allowing more books to be stacked on top of the original one.  Clever, quite affordable and certainly gives an impressive look.

Lior is a graduate of the prestigious Pratt Institute in Manhattan, New York City.  Having opened his own studio in 2008, Lior foucses on product design while maintaining the capacity to create exclusive custom furniture and objects.
