When I first saw these photos, I admit to taking a deep breath and exhaling very slowly.  They are ….. in short ….. powerful and awesome!   Adding so much to the story being read, they are a living example of just how a story can be brought alive.

Texas based artists, Susan Hoerth collects discarded books and redesigns them to reflect the story within.  As quoted on the Etsy website where Susan sells many of her original sculptures (select the ‘see more’ tab above the small thumbnail pictures) she states:

Collecting bits and pieces from my travels around the world and assembling them into a fine art collection of Curios, is my passion. I have an eye for collecting vintage items to retell stories of the past, bring new life and preserving memories. Each piece that I design includes a mixture of the discarded, and forgotten ordinary moments in everyday life.”

And should you be hankering to ‘have a go’ yourself, check out Susan’s blog The AbandonAttic where you will find instructions on just how she creates her amazing sculptures!
